[ENG] In her work Explaining dance to a machine, Ania Soliman is looking at dance as the human body in space and time, both historically and futuristically as science fiction. The project consists of a series of large-scale drawings of dance scores based on a notation system invented by the Hungarian choreographer and dance artist Rudolph von Laban. In this work she opens up the idea of a score for movement from the context of performance art into everyday life: seeing choreography in the organization of social and labor relations, in nationalism and war, but also in the scripts for bodily liberation and therapeutic movement.

[CAST] En su obra Explaining dance to a machine (Explicando la danza a una máquina), Ania Soliman ve a la danza como el cuerpo humano en el espacio y el tiempo, históricamente y de manera futurista como suele ocurrir en la ciencia ficción. Este proyecto consiste en una serie de dibujos a gran escala de partituras de danza basadas en un sistema de notación inventado por el coreógrafo y bailarín húngaro Rudolph von Laban. En esta obra se parte de la idea de una partitura para el movimiento desde el contexto del arte de la actuación hasta la vida cotidiana: observando la coreografía en la organización de las relaciones sociales y laborales, en el nacionalismo y la guerra, pero también en los guiones para la liberación corporal y el movimiento terapéutico .
