[ENG] In this new audiovisual project, Carlos Casas attempts to decipher the connections between physical and mental space, expanding the concept of desert as a representation of the state of the world and the current ecological crisis. It aims to provoke viewers into confronting the very real implications of desertification while also engaging with deeper, existential themes of loneliness and the unknown.

Deserts 1.8 also want to expand our notions of the audiovisual realm, the ever-growing power of connecting sound and image beyond abstract imagery’s and cinematic narrative constrains… Pushing our senses and nervous systems into new synergies. Fascinated by the vision of the French compositor, Carlos Casas pushes his vision of the visual sound realm, to experiment with new ways of presenting images and sound but also on new ways of working with archive materials. 

[CAST] En este nuevo proyecto audiovisual, Carlos Casas intenta descifrar las conexions entre el espacio físico y mental, expandiendo el concepto de desierto como una representación del estado del mundo y la actual crisis climática. Así es como pretende provocar al espectador confrontando las implicaciones reales de la desertificación mientras también involucra temas más profundos y existenciales como la soledad y lo desconocido.

Deserts 1.8 también quiere expandir nuestras nociones en el campo audiovisual, el poder cada vez mayor de conectar sonido e imagen más allá de imágenes abstractas y restringidas narrativas cinematográficas... Impulsando nuestros sentidos y sistemas nerviosos hacia nuevas sinergias.
