The starting point of the group exhibition Double Wall of Silence is a field of tension between the spoken and the unspoken, between the muted and the forgotten, between the individual and the collective. Migration as a dominant theme in recent years has sparked discussions about national borders, refugees, minorities, loss of identity, about them and us, danger and trauma. The power of recording experiences and memories poses a question of the forms of narrative – who is the speaker and who is the listener? How much time – and silence – does it take for the speaker's place to belong to the nameless, and how much for the listener, even if it is an unwanted testimony, to be able to fully hear it? When is dialogue possible at all, and what happens if what is said remains unheard? Through a selection of works by five artists who explore or play with the presence and absence, existence and non-existence, the exhibition focuses on the silenced and the power of the unspoken; on silence as a form of language and narrative.

El punto de partida de la exposición colectiva Double Wall of Silence es un campo de tensión entre lo hablado y lo no hablado, entre lo silencioso y lo olvidado, entre lo individual y lo colectivo. La migración como tema dominante en los últimos años ha provocado debates sobre las fronteras nacionales, los refugiados, las minorías, la pérdida de identidad, sobre ellos y nosotros, el peligro y el trauma. El poder de registrar experiencias y recuerdos plantea una cuestión de las formas de la narrativa: ¿quién es el orador y quién es el oyente? ¿Cuánto tiempo - y silencio - se necesita para que el lugar del orador pertenezca a lo anónimo, y cuánto tiempo para que el oyente, incluso si se trata de un testimonio no deseado, sea capaz de escucharlo plenamente? ¿Cuándo es posible el diálogo y qué sucede si lo que se dice no se escucha? A través de una selección de obras de cinco artistas que exploran o juegan con la presencia y la ausencia, la existencia y la inexistencia, la exposición se centra en lo silenciado y el poder de lo no dicho; en el silencio como forma de lenguaje y narrativa.
