Parallel I-IV is a four-part installation that uses excerpts from popular video-games accompanied by an essayistic voiceover. Here Farocki makes a reflection about issues such as the rendering of nature, the possibilities of body movement, the implications of privileging a first person point of view, and the peculiar physics of the game space. In addition to these repurposed excerpts, Parallel I-IV includes footage of animators at work, making visible the labour involved in the production of these algorithmic simulacra.
