Parabole is a hybrid that emerges from the architectural form of an amphitheater, whose movement evokes the structure of a parabolic antenna. The form refers to two objects—one archaic and one contemporary—that are used for the transmission of information, whether visual or imaginary. In this manner, the work sets metaphor on the capture of information. With a sculpture that not is a sculpture but a cadaver (a structure that is more provisional than solid), the artist presents himself as a “bricoleur”2, or handyman, and solicits the spectator to complete the empty structure as well as the temporal chain of disuse and dysfunction of an apparently unfinished object.

Parabole es un híbrido que emerge de una forma arquitectónica de anfiteatro que, al bascular evoca la estructura de una antena parabólica. La forma remite a dos objetos -uno arcaico y otro contemporáneo- que sirven para la transmisión de información, ya sea visual o imaginaria. Se plantea así una metáfora de la captura de información. Con una escultura que no es una escultura, sino un cadaver (algo mucho más provisional que sólido), el artista se expone como “bricoleur”3 y solicita del espectador que complete el vacío estructural pero también la cadena temporal del desuso y la disfuncionalidad de una objeto aparentemente inacabado.
