This forgotten painter from the Catalan Informalism invented a new pictorial language by using metallic paper in order to create collages. Beginning in 1958, influenced by artists like Klee and Malevich, his work departs from the figurative and each time returns more abstractly. Is during this time that Llucià begins to incorporate non-traditional materials into his painting: pigments, ash, synthetic varnishes, and the collage of metallic paper, sheets of brass, and other metals. This lack of self-promotion in the art world is perhaps explained by the mystical relationship between the artist and his creations. Llucià used painting as an authentic exercise of spiritual meditation; he had faith in modern art, its practice, and its transcendence.
