1888 is a series of photographic itineraries made between 2012 and 2013 that show some of the places, spaces and architectures that still remain in Barcelona from the 1888 Universal Exhibition, an event that was celebrated in the same year in which Kodak was founded, thus marking the industrialization of photography. Remaining between the recognizable and the enigmatic, Ribalta uses photography as a medium by which to examine urban memory from the modifications that took place during the Exhibition and spread geographically from Montjuïc to Parc de la Ciutadella.

1888 es una serie de itinerarios fotográficos realizados entre 2012 y 2013 por algunos de los lugares, espacios y arquitecturas que permanecen de la Exposición Universal de Barcelona de 1888, celebrada el mismo año en el que se fundó Kodak, que marcaría la plena industrialización de la fotografía. Entre lo reconocible y lo enigmático, Ribalta se sirve de la fotografía como medio para interrogar la memoria urbana a partir de los cambios urbanísticos que conllevaría la Exposición en una geografía que se extiende de Montjuïc al Parque de la Ciudadela.
