Based on a concert Michael Snow performed with his improvisatory ensemble CCMC at Kunst-Werke in 2002, Reverberlin is the first work for which Snow, both an esteemed filmmaker and musician, co-composed both sound and image. Using digital video images of CCMC playing all over the world, Snow creates counterpoints and juxtapositions to the unedited live recording (only sound) of 2002.
CAST
En este trabajo se dan cita explícitamente las dos facetas artísticas de Snow: la de cineasta y la de músico. En 1974, con Paul Dutton y John Oswals fundó el CCMC: Canadian Creative Music Collective, un conjunto de música dedicado a la improvisación. La banda sonora de Riverberlin es un concierto que el CCMC dio en el Kunst-Werke en 2002; el material visual se compone de grabaciones de diversos conciertos del conjunto alrededor del mundo. El montaje de Snow crea contraposiciones y yuxtaposiciones a partir de la falsa sincronización de la grabación sonora del 2002 y las imágenes.
