El Cartel, 2021

Designed by Filiep Tacq. Digital colour print on paper.
50 x 70 cm

(ENG) On one hand El Cartel reflects on the relevance of the collective authorship present in LA POSADA and, on the other hand, formally, the design by renowned designer Filiep Tacq combines the binarism of the project both in the choice (black and white) and in the form by dividing it into the two halves that make up the whole. As an ironic nod to modernity, the central outline of the poster reproduces one of the late 19th century monochrome works of the journalist and humorist Alphonse Allais. Under the black monochrome, we read the phrase "Combat de nègres dans une cave, pendant la nuit", which appears as a reference annotation in Kassemir Malevich's famous work Black Square (1915).
