Presenting video works that condense her way of thinking-doing that encompass a decade of work, from Bom Bom’s Dream (2016) to I 600 fili Spin and Break Free (2026).
“There are two traits that are fundamental to Cecilia’s work: dance, and how dance makes possible a connection among bodies, sweat, emotions, and thoughts that is utterly different from the one we establish with language or with any other artistic language. It would be very difficult to describe what all the works have in common, but there is a trait they share that is relevant throughout her video and dance production: intensity.
The works are conceived for you to become aware of the many layers the real is composed of. Historical moments that speak about ways of production; bodies that perform all kinds of tasks, that suffer from all kinds of pains, some visible and some invisible. Her videos are also often full of weather, a weather that dances with the bodies that rain or sun embraces. Dryness dances, rain dances, class dances, poverty dances, nostalgia dances, as does deep sadness, and so does joy.”
