(ENG) The moon landing on 20 July 1969 was one of the events of the century. Fifty years after man first set foot on the surface of the moon, Fotostiftung Schweiz looks at the photographic representation of this celestial body, which has always inspired people's fantasies. It presents not so much a scientific or documentary examination of the moon, as the pictorial translation of an elusive experience. The "de-mystification" of the moon is a shock that has also released artistic energies. The romantic transfiguration has given way to a debate about the role of humankind in the universe. This is expressed in conceptual and epistemological approaches which, however, also preserve the sensual fascination emanating from the moon. In addition to selected historical works, contemporary works and installations are primarily presented.

(CAST) El alunizaje del 20 de julio de 1969 fue uno de los acontecimientos del siglo. Cincuenta años después de que el hombre pisara por primera vez la superficie de la luna, la Fotostiftung Schweiz examina la representación fotográfica de este cuerpo celeste, que siempre ha inspirado las fantasías de la gente. No se trata tanto de un examen científico o documental de la luna, como de la traducción pictórica de una experiencia escurridiza. La "desmitificación" de la luna es un choque que también ha liberado energías artísticas. La transfiguración romántica ha dado paso a un debate sobre el papel de la humanidad en el universo. Esto se expresa en enfoques conceptuales y epistemológicos que, sin embargo, también preservan la fascinación sensual que emana de la luna. Además de obras históricas seleccionadas, se presentan principalmente obras e instalaciones contemporáneas.
