[ENG] From a text by Noam Chomsky I took a warning about all the current talk about the digital revolution, sometimes catastrophic, other metalinguistic. Chomsky warned that there was no greater cognitive revolution than that which led us to focus our field of vision on perspectives, paintings, and books. In those years, between the X and XV centuries, let's say, financial capital, autonomous art, and courteous love were all invented at the same time. These three cultural constructions, somehow, are intimately related, strongly linked by the same conceptual apparatus. The prestige of love and art corresponds to a certain vituperation of money. It is surely for that reason that I have dedicated some attention to that means, to money itself, from File F.X. But also in previous works, let's say like Pedro G. Romero. Then came the writings of Walter Benjamin on capitalism understood as a religion, Georges Bataille's writings on the damned part, The Living Currency or The Living Coin of Pierre Klossowski.
This exhibition, far from being a catalog of novelties, acts as a certain recapitulation and, also, with its own logic, an emission center. Films, coins, photocopies, books and vinyl records and cds will be issued by Casa sin fin and Periférica within the next two months
[CAST] De un texto de Noam Chomsky tomé una advertencia sobre toda esa cháchara de la revolución digital, unas veces catastrofista, otras metalingüística. Chomsky advertía que no hubo mayor revolución cognitiva que aquella que nos llevó a centrar nuestro campo de visión en perspectivas, cuadros y libros. En aquellos años, entre los siglos X y XV, digamos, se inventaron, a la vez, el capital financiero, el arte autónomo y el amor cortés. Estas tres construcciones culturales, de alguna manera, están íntimamente relacionadas, ligadas fuertemente por el mismo aparato conceptual. Al prestigio del amor y del arte le corresponde un cierto vituperio del dinero. Es seguramente por eso que he dedicado alguna atención a ese medio, al dinero, desde el Archivo F.X. pero también en trabajos anteriores, digamos que como Pedro G. Romero. Después vinieron los textos de Walter Benjamin sobre el capitalismo entendido como una religión, los escritos de Georges Bataille sobre la parte maldita, La moneda viviente o La moneda viva de Pierre Klossowski.
Esta exposición, lejos ya del catálogo de novedades, propone una cierta recapitulación y, también, con su propia lógica, un centro de emisión. Películas, monedas, fotocopias, libros y discos en vinilo y cedé serán emitidos desde Casa sin fin y Periférica en los próximos dos meses.
