(CAST) 8360km es la distancia existente entre este espacio expositivo e Itatiaiuçu, un municipio localizado en Minas Gerais (Brasil), y el lugar específico en el que Carolina Cordeiro recogió durante el ecuador del invierno – la época más seca del año- de 2017 semillas de Xanthium cavanillesii o Carrapicho. La morfología de estas hace que se dispersen enganchadas en el pelaje de los animales que las rozan, siendo así capaces de diseminarse por grandes superficies de terreno. La artista los recoge una noche a miles de kilómetros de aquí, y los distribuye sobre un fieltro azul oscuro dibujando un mapa celeste que se despliega en el muro, generando un diálogo entre este espacio en el centro de Barcelona y el paisaje de Minas Geráis, pero también entre lo celeste y lo terreno.
Este trabajo, cuyo título cambia dependiendo de la distancia de cada lugar en el que se expone con aquel cielo concreto, da título a esta exposición, estableciendo también un hilo conductor con el resto de trabajos expuestos. Nada más entrar nos encontramos con Cruceiro do Sul, una piedra suspendida en tensión de una cuerda que atraviesa el muro y el espacio expositivo. La tensión la ejerce atada de varios clavos en el muro más alejado, que conforman la constelación del mismo nombre que solo puede ser observada en el Hemisferio Sur, componiendo un paisaje imposible que no puede verse entero al mismo tiempo. En un díptico fotográfico observamos algunos inquietantes puntos de luz sobre un fondo negro que no logramos identificar. Podrían delimitar algo, ser alguna ciudad vista desde lejos, o pequeños animales luminosos danzando en la oscuridad. Los propios vidrios con lo que están enmarcadas dificultan la visión, y el reflejo causado por estos acaba siendo incorporado y pide una aproximación de quien está frente a ellas, permitiendo que el paisaje se escurra de nuevo. Y Campos de acción nocturnos son fundas de almohadas antiguas y manchadas por el uso, con algunos bordados alrededor de estas manchas que delimitan ciertas áreas, que generan paisajes que emergen de la más vehemente intimidad.

(ENG) 8360km is the distance between this exhibition space and Itatiaiuçu, a municipality located in Minas Gerais (Brazil), and the specific place where Carolina Cordeiro collected during winter equator - the driest time of the year - 2017 seeds of Xanthium cavanillesii or Carrapicho. The morphology of these causes that they disperse hooked in the fur of the animals that rub them, being thus able to spread by great surfaces of land. The artist picks them up one night thousands of kilometres from here and distributes them on a dark blue felt drawing a celestial map that unfolds on the wall, generating a dialogue between this space in the centre of Barcelona and the landscape of Minas Geráis, but also between the celestial and the earthy land.
This work, whose title changes depending on the distance of each place where it is exhibited with that particular sky, gives title to this exhibition, also establishing a common thread with the rest of the works exhibited. As soon as we enter the gallery, we come across Cruceiro do Sul, a stone suspended in tension from a rope that crosses the wall and the exhibition space. The tension is exerted by several nails tied to the far wall, which form the constellation of the same name that can only be observed in the Southern Hemisphere, composing an impossible landscape that cannot be seen as a whole at the same time. In a photographic diptych we observe some disturbing points of light on a black background that we cannot identify. They could delimit something, be a city seen from afar, or small luminous animals dancing in the dark. The glasses with which they are framed make vision difficult, and the reflection caused by them is incorporated and asks for an approximation of who is in front of them, allowing the landscape to drain again. And nocturnal fields of action are pillowcases old and stained by use, with some embroidery around these spots that delimit certain areas, generating landscapes that emerge from the most vehement intimacy.
