[ENG] Enésima Intempestiva [Umpteenth Untimely Meditation] On Mediation/3 and àngelsbarcelona present Enésima Intempestiva [Umpteenth Untimely Meditation], an exhibition that explores resistance to the disappearance of slow time.
Enésima Intempestiva takes as its theoretical framework Nietzche’s Second Untimely Meditation and the idea of the eternal return. Antoni Muntadas welcomes us with On Translation: The Pille, a poetic and political game that points to the urgency with which we sometimes want to decipher other cultures and languages. Diogo Da Cruz, with his installation The Gravity of Time, explores the differences between measurement and temporal perception in order to question speed as a value in itself. Consume, a contemporary vanitas by Jaume Clotet and Ànder Pérez, warns the viewer about his own finitude through a linguistic play – to consume is to be consumed. The Aspirant by Lúa Coderch introduces the (photo-) copied element to a paradoxical exercise in which the hours of work are blurred. D53 (1918), D53 (2009) by Jorge Satorre uses megalithic structures to present a mythical time that is opposed to our fluid (Bauman), accelerated (Virilio) and atomized (Chul-Han) becoming. In Enterramiento: Performance a varias velocidades (Burial: Performance at Various Speeds), Esther Ferrer converts her peripatetic action into a symbolic gesture that shows a cycle that ends by bursting into new possibilities. With her “musical scores” for Por el camino de ida y vuelta (On the way there and back), the artist reveals the importance of the journey as a cognitive catalyst. Dust to Dust by Jaume Pitarch dilates the present moment with an unproductive action that is beyond capitalist logic. With This Pill is to Help you Digest this Exhibition, Pol Ricart shrewdly observes how our tendency to accelerate processes affects – in a negative way – our understanding of contemporary artistic practice. Lucia C. Pino presents a previously unseen doublesite-specificwork: STE GO PAST PASTE ASTE I, a votive work-in-progress dedicated to thresholds – such as violation, accident or death – and PASTE STE GO PAST ASTE II After the future, an allegorical sculpture that literally forces our physical detention to alert us to the violence that speed always brings with it.
The curatorial project is completed with activities open to the public from independent curator Martí Peran and artists Diogo da Cruz and Lucia C. Pino.
OnMediation_Theory and Curatorial Practices in the Global Art, is a training seminar organized by the research group Art, Globalization Interculturality (AGI) from the University of Barcelona. This exhibition is produced by On Mediation in collaboration with the gallery àngelsbarcelona, the gallery Joan Prats, the Museum Mausoleo of Salamanca and The Gallo Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo.

Enésima intempestiva toma como marco teórico Segunda meditación prematura de Nietzche y la idea del eterno retorno. Antoni Muntadas nos recibe con On Translation: La Pille, un juego poético y político que apunta a la urgencia con la que a veces queremos descifrar otras culturas e idiomas. Diogo Da Cruz, con su instalación The Gravity of Time, explora las diferencias entre la medición y la percepción temporal con el fin de cuestionar la velocidad como un valor en sí mismo.Consume, a contemporary vanitas de Jaume Clotet y Ànder Pérez, advierte al espectador de su propia finitud a través de un juego lingüístico - consumir es ser consumido. The Aspirant por Lúa Coderch presenta el (foto-) elemento copiado en un ejercicio paradójica en el que las horas de trabajo son borrosas.D53 (1918), D53 (2009) de Jorge Satorre utiliza estructuras megalíticas para presentar un tiempo mítico que se opone a nuestra líquida (Bauman), acelerada (Virilio) y atomizada (Chul-Han) conversión. En Enterramiento: Performance at Various Speeds, Esther Ferrer convierte su acción itinerante en un gesto simbólico que muestra un ciclo que termina por estallar en nuevas posibilidades. Con sus "partituras musicales " de Por el camino de ida y vuelta, la artista revela la importancia del viaje como un catalizador cognitivo. Dust to dust de Jaume Pitarch dilata el momento presente con una acción improductiva que va más allá de la lógica capitalista. Con This Pill is to Help you Digest this Exhibition, Pol Ricart observa astutamente cómo nuestra tendencia a acelerar los procesos afecta - de una manera negativa – nuestra comprensión de la práctica artística contemporánea. Lucía C. Pino presenta una inédita doble obra específica: STE GO PAST PASTE ASTE I, una obra votiva en curso dedicada a umbrales - como la violación, accidente o muerte - y PASTE STE GO PAST ASTE II After the future, una escultura alegórica que nos obliga literalmente a detenernos físicamente para alertarnos de la violencia que la velocidad siempre trae consigo.
El proyecto comisariado se completa con actividades abiertas al público del comisario independiente Martí Peran y los artistas Diogo da Cruz y Lucia C. Pino.
OnMediation_Theory y Curatorial Practices in the Global Art, es un seminario de formación organizado por el grupo de investigación Art, Globalization Interculturality (AGI) de la Universidad de Barcelona. Esta exposición está producida por On Mediation en colaboración con la galería àngelsbarcelona, la galería Joan Prats, el Museo Mausoleo de Salamanca y El Gallo Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo.
