(ENG) Children coloring book that goes through the history of a white prince that arrives to a town in Abya Yala and convinces people that darkness and the night are negative and that the town should produce big quantities of gold for him to eat in order to shine and give bright light during the night to the town. This is the story of how colonial extractives is imposed and how organized people from the global south resist to it.
The coloring book is accompanied of an installation in printed fabrics.
(CAST) El poder del racismo colonial ha construido una idea positiva sobre la claridad, la blanquitud y la luminosidad y por el contrario nociones negativas sobre la oscuridad, la negrura y la noche. Es de esta manera que la forma en la que se entienden, interpretan y usan los colores responde también a lógicas racistas.
"El príncipe blanco y la resistencia del pueblo cercano" es un libro para colorear que narra la historia sobre la lucha de un pueblo cercano contra el extractivismo minero, el colonialismo y la larga noche de los 500 años, una noche larga en la cual nunca se apagaba la luz, una luz necesaria para sostener el sistema extractivista. En esta historia de resistencia la noche y la oscuridad son reinvidicadas como necesarias para la vida y la resistencia.
